STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – General Dynamics Land Systems hosted a Maneuver Warfighter Industry Symposium on Tuesday in Detroit, bringing together the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps and drone technology companies from around the country to answer the call for ground combat drone integration.

“These were really insightful discussions, and I thank everyone who took time to participate,” said Dave Paddock, president, General Dynamics Land Systems. “We are fully aware that the impetus is on industry to self-organize and collaborate to find solutions to modern battlefield issues, and we look forward to bringing these solutions to our customers in the near future.”

Businesses represented at the Maneuver Warfighter Industry Symposium included, in alphabetical order, Accipiter Radar, Airo Group, Airspace Link, Anduril, Applied Intuition, ARES Geospatial Intelligence Services, Autonodyne, AV, Birdstop, blueflite, CACI, DPI UAV Systems, GDIT, General Dynamics Mission Systems, General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, Hidden Level, Mistral Inc., MyDefence, Orb Aerospace, Palantir Technologies, Primordial Labs and uAvionix.

“I think the industry partners in attendance gained an understanding of the Army’s and Marine Corps’ concepts for drone employment in their maneuver formations – and the associated problems that require industry’s help,” said Jim Pasquarette, vice president, U.S. strategy and business development, General Dynamics Land Systems. “At the same time, I believe the Soldiers and Marines in attendance now have deeper appreciation of industry’s art of the possible in this space.

“Ultimately, we all want the same thing: to enhance the effectiveness of ground combat formations.”

General Dynamics Land Systems plans to hold more of these problem-solving sessions in the near future.
