- AV TECHNOLOGY AWARDED ARMORED GROUND
MOBILITY SYSTEM (AGMS) CONTRACT -
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. - US Army TACOM has awarded a contract for Pandur 6 x 6 vehicles to AV Technology, a General Dynamics company. The vehicles will be manufactured in their Shelby Township facility by the current staff. AV Technology is currently producing the Pandur for the Kuwait National Guard. Pandur is also in production and/or in service in Austria, Belgium and Slovenia.
Under the AGMS contract valued at $51,000,000, the government may order up to 50 units including training, logistic support and options for additional testing. The AGMS team consists of AV Technology, General Dynamics Land Systems and Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzeug AG & Co KG. The Pandur AGMS' superior technology includes features such as advanced armor, automatic drive management, independent suspension, central tire inflation, quick-change power pack and disc brakes. Pandur can be configured in several variants including APC, 25mm or 30mm fighting vehicles, 90mm fire support, hellfire missile, mortar, command and control, NBC reconnaissance, ambulance and maintenance recovery.
