- GENERAL DYNAMICS LAND SYSTEMS APPOINTS
WOSINA VICE PRESIDENT AMPHIBIOUS SYSTEMS -
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - General Dynamics Land Systems has appointed John W. Wosina vice president Amphibious Systems, located in Woodbridge, Virginia. In this position Wosina will be responsible for completing the design and development phase of the United States Marine Corps Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV) program, and for leading the program through engineering, manufacturing development, production transition, and full scale production. He will also be responsible for expanding the AAAV Technology Center business base.
The AAAV is a self-deploying high water speed, fully tracked, nuclear, biological and chemical protected armored amphibious assault vehicle capable of personnel delivery and command post operations. The AAAV will provide immediate, high-speed maneuver of Marine infantry units as they emerge from attack positions aboard ships located beyond the visual horizon to in-land objectives.
Wosina, 55, most recently was director, Engineering Structures and Mechanical Systems. Over his 36 year career he has held positions of increasing responsibility in Engineering, Materials, and Program Management.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Detroit in Detroit, Michigan, a Master of Arts degree in Industrial Management from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, and is a graduate of the Program Management School at the Defense Systems Management College.
