- GENERAL DYNAMICS' TALLAHASSEE OPERATIONS
MEETS ISO 9002 STANDARD -

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. -- General Dynamics Land Systems' Tallahassee Operations was certified to the international quality standard ISO 9002.

Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQi), the system evaluator and registrar, recently performed an on-site quality system audit after an eleven month effort by the plant to migrate from the MIL-Q-9858A quality management program. Compliance with ISO 9002 demonstrates a commitment to quality in all activities relating to the manufacture and support of electronics assemblies.

ISO 9000 is a set of international standards for a quality-oriented system. The focus of these standards is meeting customer expectations and requirements by increasing customer confidence in the supplier's quality systems. The ISO 9000 standards provide specific guidelines for establishing, documenting, and maintaining an effective quality system to ensure that its products and services meet customer needs.

Implementation of ISO 9002 provides Land Systems' Tallahassee Operations a competitive advantage over other manufacturing facilities by positioning the operation to better serve the present and future needs of the customers. Certification of other General Dynamics Land Systems plants to ISO 9000 is ongoing.

General Dynamics Land Systems is a world leader in the development, production, and support of armored vehicles and electronic systems.
