NEW VICE PRESIDENT POSITION -

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. --- General Dynamics Land Systems president, Arthur J. Veitch, announced the establishment of a new position, vice president Material Acquisition, reporting to him.

Thomas A. Bledsoe, General Dynamics Land Systems vice president Electronics Operations, is transferred to the new position.

"I’m happy to announce that Tom Bledsoe will be moving to oversee this critical service segment for the company after successful leadership of the combat vehicle electronics manufacturing and engineering move to Tallahassee, and submission of the Single Channel Ground/Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS) radio proposal is complete," said Arthur J. Veitch, General Dynamics Land Systems president. "Tom’s wealth of material management experience and leadership are a valuable asset on which we will capitalize in his new role."

The new vice president position was created to standardize the material procurement process across the company’s business centers and provide independent oversight in support of Land Systems programs.

The announcement combines the directors for Engineering Material and Material Management under the new organization. The procurement centers at Land Systems plants in Muskegon, Michigan, and Tallahassee, Florida will report to the vice president Material Acquisition. In addition, he will have oversight of the material acquisition process at General Dynamics Amphibious Systems in Woodbridge, Virginia.

General Dynamics Land Systems is a world leader in the development, production, and support of armored vehicles and electronic systems.
