Muskegon Operations Strengthens Land Systems (March 3, 1996)

Land Systems' Muskegon Operations is a very important acquisition. The integration of Teledyne Vehicle Systems (TVS) and the Crusader field artillery scope from Teledyne Brown Engineering coupled with Land Systems combines the strengths of two of the United States premier combat armored vehicle designers, manufacturers, and systems integrators. TVS, hereafter referred to as Muskegon Operations, has 400 employees. The one million square foot facility, located on 438 acres in Muskegon, Michigan, includes two unpaved test tracks, tank engine machining, assembly, and test equipment, a tactical wheeled vehicle assembly area, and administrative offices. The Muskegon Operations also lease a 50,000 square foot local facility for their engineering technical center and prototype assembly efforts.

Muskegon Operations' annual sales approximate $100 million. The on is a major supplier of combat vehicle design and systems integration services, modernization packages, mobility systems, and tactical wheeled vehicles to the United States and international armed forces. The organization has designed and built air-cooled diesel engines for combat vehicles and other applications since 1942. TVS engines can be found in 20,000 tanks and armored vehicles throughout the world. There is a steady business supplying replacement engines, spare parts, and maintenance services to these users.
