General Dynamics Receives DoD Cogswell Industrial Security Award
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. -- General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded the Cogswell Industrial Security Award by the Department of Defense. The Cogswell Award is presented for outstanding achievements in industrial security. The award is the most prestigious in the industrial security field.
General Dynamics Land Systems was recognized for superior industrial security efforts in its operation of the Lima Army Tank Plant, in Lima, Ohio, a government-owned facility. Of nearly 12,000 cleared defense contractors who are involved in classified work, only 12 were selected to receive the 2002 Cogswell Award. This is the second Cogswell Award General Dynamics has won at the Lima facility; the first was in 1996.
