UAW AND GENERAL DYNAMICS SIGN FOUR-YEAR LABOR AGREEMENT

DETROIT, Mich. The United Auto Workers (UAW) and General Dynamics Land Systems have signed a new labor agreement that extends through October 16, 2005. The agreement covers 825 employees at facilities in Sterling Heights, Mich., Eynon, Pa, and the Lima Army Tank Plant in Lima, Ohio. UAW represented employees at the above facilities will return to work on Monday, October 29, 2001.

"This is a very good agreement that recognizes the significant contributions our membership has made to the success of General Dynamics", said Nate Gooden, vice president and director, UAW General Dynamics department. "Our members are eager to get back to work to do what they do best, and that is design and build world class defense systems".

Charles M. Hall, president of General Dynamics Land Systems, said "It's important to balance the needs of our business with those of our employees and we have succeeded on both counts. Our UAW represented team members are critical to our efforts to continue to grow our business and support our customers, and I'm glad to have them back".
