- GENERAL DYNAMICS LAND SYSTEMS APPOINTS FREY ENGINEERING DIRECTOR FOR THE INTERIM ARMORED VEHICLE PROGRAM -

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - General Dynamics Land Systems has appointed Terry L. Frey director of Engineering for the $4 billion Interim Armored Vehicle (IAV) program recently awarded by the U.S. Army to the team of General Motors - Canada and General Dynamics Land Systems.

Frey will lead the Systems Integration Product Team for all engineering effort on the IAV program which includes the Mobile Gun System, Mortar Carrier, Nuclear Biological Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicle, Medical Evacuation Vehicle and chassis modifications required for all variant interfaces.

Frey's most recent assignment was department manager, Abrams Vetronics and Horizontal Technology Integration, where he was responsible for the engineering development programs relative to the U.S. Army command and control digitization effort for ground combat vehicles.

He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Lawrence Institute of Technology in Southfield, Michigan, and a master's degree in mechanical/electronic controls from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
