- U.S. Army Awards General Motors, General Dynamics $4 Billion Contract To Supply New Armored Vehicles (November 17, 2000)
The U.S. Army has awarded GM GDLS Defense Group, a joint venture between General Motors and General Dynamics Land Systems, a six-year requirements contract with an estimated total value of $4 billion to equip its new Brigade Combat Teams with the General Motors LAV III eight-wheeled armored vehicle.

The United States Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command has awarded General Dynamics Land Systems a $10.3 million contract modification to exercise its option to continue Systems Technical Support (STS) for the Abrams tank program through 31 July 2001. The original sole source contract was awarded in May 1996.

The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), has awarded Armor Center Support Services (ACSS), a joint venture between General Dynamics Land Systems Customer Service and Support Company (CSSC) and Brown and Root Services Company (BRSC), a $104 million contract to perform logistics and public works services for the Fort Knox installation.

The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command has awarded General Dynamics Land Systems a $34.4 million contract for 10 Wolverine Heavy Assault Bridge (HAB) vehicles. Delivery of the vehicles, at a rate of one per month, begins June 2001.
- General Dynamics Coproduction Offer Creates 2,350 New Jobs (June 29, 2000)
General Dynamics announced today that its offering for the Hellenic Army Main Battle Tank would result in 2,350 new jobs and $523 million (194 billion GRD) of economic benefits to Greece. Coproduction of the American M1A2 Abrams tank by the Hellenic Republic would have a direct economic benefit of $280 million (104 billion GRD) to the national economy and an indirect impact worth $243 million (90 billion GRD) according to a study by Foresight International, a United States company specializing in economic analysis of military and government procurements.

The United States Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command has awarded General Dynamics Land Systems two modification contracts, exercising its option for the company to build 70 Abrams Integrated Management for the 21st century (AIM XXI) tanks, and procure long lead materials for an additional 135 tanks. The contracts are for $17.6 million and $29.3 million, respectively.
