General Dynamics Land Systems Names Whited Vice President, Finance STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - Gary L. Whited has been named vice president of finance at General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), succeeding Hugh Redd, who became chief financial officer of General Dynamics Corporation on June 1. Whited reports to David K. Heebner, president of General Dynamics Land Systems. Whited had been with General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in St. Petersburg, Florida, since October 2001 as vice president, Finance. Previously, he was controller at General Dynamics Electronic Systems in Mountain View, California, which General Dynamics acquired from GTE Government Systems Corporation in September 1999. There he was a manager of accounting and financial planning and manager of general accounting. Earlier Whited worked for the Defense Contract Audit Agency and PriceWaterhouse LLC. Whited has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan.
