FALLS CHURCH, Va. - General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) announced today that John Ulrich will become senior vice president and deputy director of the General Dynamics European Land Combat Systems business unit, effective July 3. He will report to H. Michael Malzacher, president of General Dynamics European Land Combat Systems. Effective with Malzacher's retirement at the end of 2006, Ulrich will become president of General Dynamics European Land Combat Systems, reporting to Charles M. Hall, executive vice president and group executive of General Dynamics' Combat Systems group. Ulrich has been senior vice president of General Dynamics Land Systems Canada since 2003. He has 29 years of experience in the defense and international markets. Ulrich holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin as well as an MBA from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Malzacher has been president of European Land Combat Systems since its creation in October of 2003. Previously, he was managing director of Steyr Spezialfahrzeug from 1986 until General Dynamics acquired it in October, 2003.
