The Mechanics of Doing Business with General Dynamics
A Potential Supplier Profile may be completed and submitted online. Additional literature - such as Company Brochures or Financial Statement in electronic format, your email address or link to your Web Site & etc - can be attached or is part of the Profile form.
Once your Profile has been submitted online, it will be processed to the appropriate buyer for consideration. Submittal of a Supplier Profile form DOES NOT guarantee any follow-up contact from General Dynamics. Should there be any interest in your product(s) or services, you will be contacted by the appropriate buyer.
It is the policy of General Dynamics to actively pursue and use small, small disadvantaged, women-owned, HUB Zone and Veteran owned businesses to the full extent possible.
QUOTATIONS
When you reply to the buyer, be sure that your quote is accurate and that your proposal is submitted on time. Buyers consider price, delivery, quality, reliability, maintainability warranties, management capability, and importantly, past quality performance - not price alone.
DELIVERY
Prompt reliable delivery is vital to the successful accomplishment of our programs which are usually burdened with limited lead times. Buyers soon grow weary of suppliers who cannot meet schedules.
ACCOMPLISHING THE TASK
Of primary importance is to comply with the specifications or instructions of the purchase order and technical data package. Notify the buyer promptly if you feel our instructions are not clear, or if you have not received any items agreed to have been furnished by us. Also notify the buyer promptly of any anticipated delays as work progresses.
SHIPMENT
Your next step is to ship so that the plant receives the items on the specified date in an undamaged condition.
REJECTIONS
Should the shipment not be to specification, it will be returned to the supplier for replacement at the supplier's expense, and the supplier's quality record will be noted. Rejections are costly to buyer and seller.
PAYMENT
General Dynamics is on auto-pay, which means you will be paid when your material has been received and accepted. You will only have to invoice for non-extendable items such as weld samples, engineering charges, setup charges, control tests, etc.
